The scratching post is a game for cats that cannot miss in a home. For those who don’t know it, it’s a structure relatively high equipped with platforms and sleeping spots for your cat to play with, climb and, if need be, rest. The columns and the kennels composing the scratching post are made of wood or resistant cardboard and covered in rope: this way our friend will have the chance to scratch their nails… without destroying furniture!
In the animal shops you will find different typologies of scratching posts that are usually ranked by their dimension. If your four-legged friend is a little cat, it won’t need a high scratching post, instead, a little one will do. The more the cat grows the stronger the structure will have to be, so a medium size scratching post may be the better choice. Pay attention: It’s not necessary for it to be a multi-floor scratching post, but surely it needs to be able to withstand the cat’s weight even when it decides to jump on it.
At last there are the tree scratching posts, called such because they simulate the presence of a tree on which the cat can climb. Useless to say that to keep at home such a structure it’s necessary to own a wide space which will surely make your kitten happy!
