Luigi Manara starts its business of marketing products and technical means for agriculture
1963
With the collaboration of the agronomist Lionello Dusi, Luigi Manara starts the seed business with the SEV brand (Sementi Elette Verona), extending the entrepreneurial interest to the seed world. With this step, the business begins to take on the role of a supply chain, an extremely avant-garde concept for that period. The company, distributing varieties of seeds for small-grain cereals throughout Italy, acquires more and more skills in the sector. The success of Luigi Manara's business has an important economic impact on the Verona area because, in order to satisfy the market's demand for seeds, the multiplication contracts that the company stipulates with local farms increase.
1980
Understanding the needs of the market, Gruppo Manara begins the activity of collecting products from the local farms, with the aim of enhancing the local productions of farmers and completing the chain of cereals and oilseeds, promoting contracts with the industry of transformation through products such as waxy corn, white corn, biscuit grain, soy, etc. In recent years important investments have been made in warehouses and driers in order to be able to meet the demands of the market.
2009
The Gruppo Manara continues its growth path and invests in renewable energy by building a pressing facility for rapeseed and sunflower seed. What is obtained from this process can be destined to the food industry or used as fuel for cogeneration engines, the panel, instead, is used for alimentation for zootechnical use to be resold to local farmers.
2011
A process of renewal of the corporate structure begins which leads to the establishment of the Gruppo Manara including its four areas: agrosupplies, seeds, drying and storage, energy.
2013
The growth path continues with the acquisition of Olivi Agricoltura, a historic Treviso brand since 1874. This decision represents an important turning point for Gruppo Manara: the new strategy involves the transition from a single historical point of sale at the headquarters, to a series of shops located throughout the Triveneto, strengthening its presence on the territory. At the same time, the company entered two new markets: viticulture, including plant engineering and products for the cellar and the pet food and garden world.
2018
The merger by incorporation of Olivi Agricoltura is recent: now the reality presents itself with a single VAT number and two different brands. This step has led to a further renewal of the corporate structure, for this reason important investments have been made in IT systems, in the implementation of integrated logistics and in the sales force in the territory.
Guiding the company is Fabio Manara, that holds the position of Managing Director since 2010.
